Wāhine toa | I had the privilege of staying at Te Mahurehure Marae and I left feeling empowered and filled with strength, inspiration, and knowledge. The history and stories we were taught were amazing, but the amount of strong women included in those stories allowed me to reflect on my own life; the women in my life who are pillars of strength, the woman that I have become, as an individual, as a mother, a wife, daughter and everything in between. This piece reflects the strong women that we are, that we are yet to become.
